I am kicking myself for not picking this up on Black Friday for $1999. Do you think there is any chance that an online retailer will offer it again for this price before Christmas? I'm tempted by the refurbs but it would obviously be a better deal to get it new for $1999. If I don't see this deal by Christmas again I'll either go used or refurb. Just wondering if anyone remembers previous years if the deals get going again closer to Christmas? I heard that the best deals can actually be had a few days before Christmas as opposed to black Friday.

Yes, normally around the week before Christmas there are similar deals to black Friday. Retailers have their own sales goals to achieve. Who knows if the 5D will be involved. Since its only a couple weeks out its worth waiting for.

You also just missed 15% off refurb as well. You are right about Black Friday. It is just a marketing ploy now. You can look at trends and see that.

You can still buy the 5d 2 for $1999 form Canon authorized dealers in Canada.

I doubt it will go that low again this year. The closer it gets to Christmas, the more likely a customer is to pay full price because timing becomes more important. I think you missed the boat.

I was aware of the deal but it was never in stock when I checked.

How does it work with shipping to the USA and warranty and all that?
And it's not grey market is it?

Well they are $2220 new here in the US, so make sure it's still a good deal after tax, etc. Plus, you'd have to return it back to Canada if it arrives defective and insured/trackable shipping across the border isn't terribly cheap.

The out the door cost is $1999 so no taxes or fees.

Actually Nevermind, I don't even see the 5D2 body only from Henry's on their website. Only the kit.

Henry's is not the only one selling a 5D 2 for CAD $1999. There are other authorized dealers in Canada too. Look at this link

http://www.photoprice.ca …EOS-5D-Mark-II-price.html (external link)

Aden camera is another authorized dealer selling a 5D 2 for $1999.

Besides you don't have to pay any customs, tax etc. The only thing you pay extra is for shipping and foreign transaction fees from your bank. But with forex rate on that particular day, even with foreign transaction fees, I ended up paying $2009 shipped.

But as tkbslc mentioned, if you don't mind paying $200 extra you can certainly buy it online.

Have you tried Ebay? I just ordered one new. $2016 before shipping. Is legit. The seller has sold over 70 of them.

Check your PM. I am not affiliated with the seller. He has over 14k feedbacks and dealing with cameras mostly. He got feedbacks from some of the 5dmarkII sales. I think he is legit.
