...didn't turn out ANYTHING like I wanted it to... but I did my best. This is my first time. Let me know your thoughts! :)

Ok for a first try. Did you do a long exposure and then hand-fire the flash from various spots? If so, there seems to be uneven coverage and some hot spots.

Consider using something to diffuse the flash such as a stoffen cup or a homemade diffuser.

Several 2-3" long exposures with a flash... and yes, the uneven coverage bothered me. Next time, I'm trying a flash light.

It's not a terrible first attempt, but there are far easier ways to make a car look good. For now, though: Painting with Light, a 'How to Guide' for car photography
