More work towards an opening in conceptual art. Open to critique, darts, beers, cheers, and the general consensus. There are some real reasons I put this together with this group of objects. Best viewed on a color managed browser like Firefox.

AM contemplates in dream time while satiating her tobacco habit

Looks like a Fark photoshop contest to me with AM pasted on there, sitting on an invisible floor next to the window.

^^Sure that makes sense^^

Here's another rendition. I like the print tone a little better in this version.

It's funky for sure. I like the concept, but I don't like how AM is put into the mix here. Maybe better blending or just a closer shot, blended into the background better? - I dunno. I like everything except that as it feels like cheezy photoshop job with the bad cut/paste.

I will say, you do have a knack for finding the extraordinary inside the ordinary. Would love to have a beer/wine with you one day.

Todd thanks for the comments. Well it is a cheezy photoshop job with the bad cut/paste. AM is a floater and mostly this is just an exercise however in another light AM is a contrasting element which can be viewed as an effective visual tool for interest. It actually started out as something else. 2nd or 3rd time at composite and I just learned how to use smart objects which is really nice. I have lots of interesting bits and some real ideas to use and I am exploring some PP possibilities while I prepare for better art to come. I don't drink but I do like to shoot. Have no idea when I'll be passing through Dallas though.

A dirty window in high contrast light. A wall of 120 film paper wrappers. An expired artichoke. Sleep time clock. AM the only 120 film shot in this set.

Sure Todd. Sounds good. To answer you question about AM. One idea is that she is in that moment on internal fantasy called dream time and this world around her represents that.

It's definitely funky. I love the clock by the way.

(and I like the lighter version too)

Distorted retro holga like nearly mostly rubbish art. I'm proud. I can wear any hat. The women who sold me that clock sold George Harrison 7 of them.

... :D... love this comment, Joe!

Regarding the shot, I really like it and, like some of your previous posts, I find myself looking at them for ages, genuinely interested and trying to figure them out... unfortunately, my understanding of conceptual art is extremely limited, so I find it difficult to comment on them - or don't feel qualified to comment - other than saying that I find the image pleasing.

...and I love that clock!! :)

I'm not sure there is much to get Jim. The symbolism is either there for the viewer or not. I was just messing around with some things around the homestead.

I think there is Joe. I'm a very basic character... I'm not saying, "love me, I'm thick", but I toil with the 'artistic' side of photography... or anything else for that matter! :) I take shots of... things... people, animals, landscapes, scenes... but you put things together (and comment on things) in a way that I find difficult to comprehend. I genuinely do like the photos you upload and appreciate your comments, but as I said, I spend ages looking at your shots trying to understand the concept. But I do that in galleries too! :) Or maybe I'm trying to look too deeply into things... but I think not! :)

Incidentally, I was a miserable failure in 'art' at school! :)

There is a role for every photographer. That's the beauty of the sport.

Well I'm glad I posted because I think this version is a little more interesting and has a little more impact. The theme is repeated but there is an additional dream element that adds a lot more visual interest.
