Churches of San Francisco

Hey everyone. This is my latest portfolio for my Academy of Art pre-college program. I have been raised in a very religious Catholic family my whole life and this is what influenced my latest work. I set out to capture the beauty of churches inside and out. From soaring spires to statues frozen in time, churches contain many elegant features. I created a book with large 18x12 photos of the facades of the churches with five 4x6 photos of the inside features of the many churches on the opposing page.

Comment and critique are encouraged! I hope you enjoy! More photos will be added as the days count down to my final exhibit this Saturday December 10th.

Very nice work. Although I am not religious. I do appreciate the beauty of many churches and enjoy shooting them. I thought I recognized Mission Dolores in #8, but you labeled it differently.

Thank you! Yeah churches are beautiful! Mission Dolores is the common name of the church, but it's official name is Mission San Francisco de Asis. The basilica next to the old mission is officially called Mission Dolores Basilica.

Glad you liked them! Yeah it took me about two weeks to get to all these churches since I'm still in high school and all. :P
