I need some advice on what to take on a trip to Europe I'll be going on sometime next year. I'm thinking a bit ahead with this post ,seeing as the trip in in June but, would like to get a few good recommendations anyways.
Something to chew on in the time I have before the trip. :)

I have a T2i and a 50mm 1.8 MKI and a basic 18-55mm kit lens. Not terrible.
But, I'll have some time to make some dough before the trip and possibly (probably) invest in a new lens and other accessories (BG, batteries, SD cards, etc).
Lens wise I want something with a little ... more. So, I'm deciding between either a Tamron 17-55 f/2.8 (non-VC or VC), Canon 17-55 (pricey), or another prime to compliment my already awesome 50mm.

What I'm asking for is a few recommendations for a fast mid-zoom that I might've missed or some suggested wider primes; all without breaking the bank (I'm a student, heh).
