This is from a recent trip to the Gulf Coast of Florida. The area offers unparalleled opportunities to get close to fishing Ospreys and I came back with a rich collection of keepers. This is one of my favourites because of the eye contact and the wing position.

WDYT?

I like the way its head is cocked to the side. Very nice.

That's exactly what the Osprey tried to do... but the bird ended up dropping the fish! I saw two of the, drop the fish and none of them were successful in getting one back to a perch to eat it. I was wondering if they might have been this year's young, perhaps not all that skillful. Or maybe Osprey's just have a low strike rate with flippin' big fish :)
