I just added what should be the last lens to my collection. Now I just need to focus on shooting.

Today I picked up a like new EF-S 10-22 f3.5-f4.5 USM off Craig's list for $650 from a guy who has switched to FF, $200 less than retail and $91 less than Adorama (through Amazon - $726. + $14.95 shipping)). I got to try it before buying, and no waiting for the delivery man, no sales tax. All in all I'm happy. I have covered with good lenses virtually the entire range from 10mm to 280mm (just missing 5mm from 55mm to 60mm and 10 from 60mm to 70mm).

By the way, I love Amazon's phony discount. They have it marked as list price at $1400, yet I can buy it retail from a quality local photography shop for $849.95. Even Canon shows it for $859.99 on their own site.

It feels that way today, but you're never "there". In fact, "there" isn't a reachable place: you are forever doomed to lust after gear, and asymptotically approach "there".

I have a very similar kit, and I also just added the 10-22mm this week to fill out my bottom end. But I can't pretend to be done--already I know there is a 100mm f/2.8L macro in my future. And I need a flash. And a more solid tripod. Sigh.

I have a good tripod and the EX 430 II flash. I also have on order right now a wireless release and angle viewfinder for those awkward shots. If I was to change anything from this point, it would probably include a 7D, but that's out of my range at the moment. If anything should happen to my T1i (God forbid ;)), then I might be able to convince my wife that it would be a good investment.

Ho ho ho! I've heard that before. I've now got nine lenses and I don't say it anymore!

i wouldn't worry about those missing "mm" ( 5/ 10) ... you can fill those in very easily : take a few steps closer and/or a few steps back.. problem solved.. for free :)...
So, now you can send me the extra money you'd have used to fill those mm... and i'll buy some lights :) (just kiddin... :p )

You don't have anything faster than F2.8...
And you don't have any lighting...

Like others have said... you need a full frame or else it's never completed.

Gold sneakers? I don't see any gold sneakers in your gear list.

I don't do studio type stuff, so I'm not that concerned with lighting. My one flash with diffusers and a couple of homemade reflectors will keep me where I need to be. It may not be professional grade, but then I have no illusions or any real desire to become such.

Granted that a fast prime would be nice, I simply could never come up with a single lens of any type to get the job done, and a whole series of them just isn't in the budget. I did that back in my 35mm film days (had Rokkor X 50mm f1.4, 28mm, 200mm).

I'm going to bump this thread a year from now and make fun of how many fast primes you have. :p

Makes you wonder how Henri Cartier-Bresson got all those great shots... He only used a 50mm lens most of his life. I guess his feet worked better than ours. ;)
