Ok so the conclusion is, you will probably need some prime. And after a while, upgrade to FF and start all over again lol.

I just added what should be the last lens to my collection. Now I just need to focus on shooting.

Today I picked up a like new EF-S 10-22 f3.5-f4.5 USM off Craig's list for $650 from a guy who has switched to FF, $200 less than retail and $91 less than Adorama (through Amazon - $726. + $14.95 shipping)). I got to try it before buying, and no waiting for the delivery man, no sales tax. All in all I'm happy. I have covered with good lenses virtually the entire range from 10mm to 280mm (just missing 5mm from 55mm to 60mm and 10 from 60mm to 70mm).

By the way, I love Amazon's phony discount. They have it marked as list price at $1400, yet I can buy it retail from a quality local photography shop for $849.95. Even Canon shows it for $859.99 on their own site.

I don't see a single prime in your signature. Your not done - trust me ;)

And +1 about focus on shooting.

That 60mm f2.8 macro is as close to a prime as I expect to get any time soon. Some buy primes for the speed, I got the one I have for focusing distance. It's a trade off, but one that works best for me.

On my crop sensor I'd rather go with something like a 35mm prime for a so-called "normal" lens, but I'm just not that anxious for change right now. That range is covered quite nicely with my 17-55 now, so I'm not hunting.

That's kind of what I thought, but I didn't know if a purist would agree.
