AfterDPP is a new plugin for DPP. It enhances DPP by adding some useful post-processing functions.
The above pic is an example of the kind of pics you can obtain directly within DPP by using AfterDPP plugin.

You can find more samples of what AfterDPP can produces here (external link)

AfterDPP completes DPP by adding the following post-processing functions :

- Add borders to converted pics
- Add shadows to converted pics to provide 3D effect
- Add canvas to converted pics
- Add frames to converted pics
- Stamp converted pics with date of shots, automatically extracted from exif info
- Add legends to converted pics
- Add watermarks to converted pics
- Choose between 15 different algorithms to resize converted pics (for instance, famous lanczos)
- Add final sharpening to final resized pics

You can find all the details about this new plugin here (external link)

I want to try afterDPP, but it does not seem to be working. I downloaded the plugin, but everthing looks the same. I see that it states it is for DPP 3.10 or 3.11.... I am running 3.12.52 is this the problem? I really want to try this out just for the signature/watermark.

The afterDPP plugin appears in the Batch window of DPP.

Wow, after a few years of using a Mac I finally find something to complain about.
One draw back is the rest of the world apparently isn't ready to catch up with Mac so we are sometimes left out when new products are made available.

I'm sure if someone was to donate him the latest top of the line Power Mac with 27" Cinema screen Yves would be happy to LOOK at porting it to Mac:D. Having had to do some Pascal and C programming back when I was in University I hold my hat up to anyone with the skills to do both the necessary programming to do the image processing, as well as wrapping it up in a really nice user interface; on any platform at all.

If I were a regular DPP user I would be all over this, as it looks to give DPP similar functionality to the Print module in Lightroom, which I am appreciating more and more recently.

YB, you have created some interesting twists to DPP and the POTN community thanks you for that. A few questions, though: after adding any of the plugins, when DPP is upgraded to a newer version, does it clobber the plugin? Is the plugin incompatible until it too is updated? Does the plugin interfere with the upgrade? Thanks.

You make a good point. Everything has it's price. What your suggesting is a wee bit steep for me however.

Since the plugin exists (almost 3 years), it happened 2 or 3 times that I needed to provide compatibility updates. This usually happens when Canon introduces new big features to DPP such as the DLO module. Till now it was not a problem to provide an update but as I'm not a canon developer, I cannot garantee it will be the case for the eternity !

Although I don't usually make use of After DPP, I use DPP and DPP ++ for every shot I take. It is the first step in my workflow ... from here I convert to a TIF and off the image goes to CS5, usually with NIK.

I want to take this opportunity on the last day of 2012 to thank Yves for all his work and wish him all the best in 2013.

Thank you for your reply. That sounds great. As I read it, your plugin needed to be updated, but did not kill DPP. I am sure you can understand the concern should it happen the other way around: i.e., that your plugin would somehow stop the running or interfere with the updating of DPP and you were not around to issue a fix. Good work.
