Thank you for your reply. That sounds great. As I read it, your plugin needed to be updated, but did not kill DPP. I am sure you can understand the concern should it happen the other way around: i.e., that your plugin would somehow stop the running or interfere with the updating of DPP and you were not around to issue a fix. Good work.

I can confirm that DPP++ doesn't interfer with DPP at all. It doesn't change anything to DPP neither to your RAW files.
