Well, the last of the farmers in my family past away last week, and I wanted to get a shot of the barn I loved to play in as a kid. I don't think I will ever be back there again so I grabbed this shot for the family to remember the old place by. I'm kicking myself for not paying attention to my settings. I was in a hurry because some other family members were with me and I knew they didn't want to wait around. Shot this at F3.5, ugh.

in the small picture, I can't see any DOF issues (but the picture is small of course)

I would probably fix the CA that is apparent in the power pole as it stood out to me. Be thankful there weren't any contrails in the sky. To me, this tells the story of someone, and for that it would be a keeper.

I'd like to spend the day there with my 4x5!

haha, you are not alone, I like it too. What a great barn, now that is something I would like to explore the interior of and see all the treasures of a lifetime's collecting. It just oozes the fact it would have so much interesting stuff squirreled away inside.

Regardless of how your settings are, you will not regret this image when you get home, especially since you mentioned you will not be back there again - the passing of a family era.

My only nit is I would work on cloning out the wires to the barn and behind the barn with the poles. Otherwise it is a wonderful image.

just a few of my thoughts...

I really like that image. I would go back and reshoot if you can.

Google the word Cupola/barns. Those are the two objects on top of the roof vents. You would have no problem selling those if you wanted to or you may even want to keep them. I'm not a barn expert but my guess is that barn was built in the 20s or 30s.

You have a wonderful piece of family history in that barn. I think you might regret not reshooting as time goes by. The grain auger on the right and the fence posts just add to the character. It also looks like there could be some type of farm implements between the corner of the barn and the auger. I would love to have a chat with barn if only it could talk.

Don't take me wrong, I like your image but I think you would have a satisfied mind if you could reshoot. When I say reshoot, I mean take more pics as well. Perhaps focussing in on the cupolas and anything else of interest.
