I know that many people on here don't like the attention that they get while carrying their big white gears around. I actually like the attention. After all people drive expensive convertable fast sports cars so they can get attention. I feel specail when others want to talk to me just to find out how much I pay for the lens. Am I alone on this guys?

Yea not a big fan myself, even with the F/4 IS people are watching me. And I'm more of an introvert and hate attention. I'm trying to ignore this and shoot anyways but find it disturbing sometimes.

Mostly this.

Sometimes it works wonders to get you access to places that you otherwise wouldn't be. But most of the time I just get people walking up to me and wanting to ask me who I shot for, why I have such a big lens, etc. etc. If you want positive attention while you're carrying your camera just go buy a suit, it will probably be cheaper :p.

I agree with you 100%

I actually like it as well. Makes me feel more important than I really am. :-)

I am just one of those people that is very outgoing. I can talk to strangers all day about this lens or photography. It's a great conversational piece. :-)

I shoot for a hobby. But I won't lie. Sometimes when someone asks who I work for, I'm known to fib a little. Lol

While I don't mind talking gear with people... I rather do it when I'm NOT out shooting. I enjoy taking photos with my gear more than I enjoy brandishing it hoping someone would come and admire my gear.

It doesn't bother me. I don't care if I get noticed or not.

On the other hand, I give my attention to those who carry around big heavy expensive gears in return. I admire those with top of the line gears, so I guess that is fair.

That's me.

I don't want to talk to people. That's why I don't take pictures of people for the most part.

Luckily, I'm a big guy with a naturally angry look on my face. People stay away
