Congratulations, your post might be the only one in this entire thread that has any common sense! :) lol

I found what I need to take my camera around where people are smoking cigarettes.
There is NO WAY I would use this to take my camera in a pool or the beach but I feel it would be adequate to protect against cigarette smoke..

Ok, whatever.

I was dead serious. I do not want my camera exposed to cigarette smoke when I go sit for a week getting inked. I asked if anyone could point me to some sort of protective systems to keep the smoke out of my camera. I want to have my camera there to document me getting inked. I don't want smoke getting into the camera.

I got very few helpful replies so I went to google and I found something to do what I wanted, protect my very expensive camera from nasty, nasty cigarette smoke.

I posted what I found and you guys yuck it up like I was trolling.

Are you kidding me??

Cigarettes are filthy, nasty, stinking, unhealthy and deadly. The foul smoke they put out gets all over everything. It turns white things yellow. It leaves a film on everything..

Smokers got exceptionally offended and hostile about it. That's no surprise to me. I used to be a heavy chain smoker and I would get hostile over similar things. But I didn't ask for opinions. I didn't ask if I should or should not protect my camera. I asked for help locating a protective cover for the camera because I had already pre-determined that I was not going to expose my camera to cigarette smoke, PERIOD. I had already made my mind up. I did not ask for opinions. I did not ask "should I or should I not?"

Just like a few weeks ago when I first posted here "Hi, I'm about to buy a 5D mkII and I have a few questions". I had questions as to which lens I should get and a few other accessories. I didn't ask "should I buy this camera?" because when I came to the forum I had already made up my mind that I was going to buy the 5D mkII and I indeed did do exactly that.

So really, this thread has served no real purpose other than as a battle ground between smokers and non-smokers to take jabs at one another and it's been pretty uptight most of the time.

I found what I needed, on my own. I have no further questions and in my opinion it would be a good idea if an admin just locked this thread because of all the vitriol that's invaded it.

And that is MY opinion.

I have nothing further to say, I have no further interest in this thread or the opinions that may appear after I leave.

Goodbye.

You have nothing to worry about. I shoot quite a bit of cigar events, I just came back from a week in a factory down in the DR where my gear was in clouds for hours. No effect for such a short exposure. Sure do it for months at a time you'll need a good cleaning though.

Don't bother. I'd say read the whole thread, but...

She doesn’t care about breathing the poison herself for a whole week. Never mind the needles, ink and equipment being used to inject ink into her body have been positively swimming in the smoke… She is only worried about the camera. Never mind that the apparently very well hidden message here has been simply DO NOT FREAKING GO TO THIS POISONUS PLACE if it is that bad for your “camera”… The reason people get so wound up in these dumb off-topic threads is it is so glaringly obvious what should be done here that it is hard for most folks to get their minds around how she can be so single minded as to miss the so glaringly obvious! Good luck, really. It your body and your camera… Wrap that rascal and take a DEEP breath for me!
