I just ordered this new lens. Lets make this fun, if you own the lens describe your first moments, from taking it out of the hands of the ups man to putting it on your camera for the first time!

Congrats.. My experience went like this..

First week - man, this is tough to shoot with, I'm not sure I made the right call here...
Second week - OK, I think I'm getting the hang of it..
Third week - My god, I love this lens.

HAHA! Mine came yesterday and after some time shooting I was thinking the same thing. Then I snapped off a couple and was like "WOW - got that one right for sure".

It does take some time to get used to. But I think I am gonna be very pleased with the decision.

Mine came yesterday as well.

I picked it up at the courier and got home as quick as I legally could. Immediately opened it, put it on my 5D, took a random shot, and grinned for the rest of tonight.

I can't wait to get home from work today to get back at it!

got mine yesterday, was very excited, but after an hour or so of shooting with it now I got the RMA to send it back for an exchange. I got a very soft copy, hope to get a better one next round.

I got mine a little over a week ago. Love the lens, frustrated with my subjects lately. Still a tad worried about the focal length on the 5D for the kids. Can't get the natural candids I get with my 85. I have no issues or problems with the lens though, and the FL is fantastic on my 7D. It's great on the 5D too, just need to get more used to working with it.

Thanks for sharing Brandon, I've briefly had this lens twice - one was defective and returned, the other was stellar but I had to sell 2 weeks after getting it due to some unexpected bills. Now thinking third times a charm but need a little nudge.

Both times I was struck with the wideness and challenge of filling the frame well composition wise. I think perhaps I didn't get to give it a really solid go to get used to the fov and vision that is 35mm, thinking I preferred the more normal 50mm range that seemed easier to work with.

Will be purchasing either the 50l or 35l again very soon, head says 50 but I'm strangely drawn to the 35.

Mine needed no MA, but I sold it anyways. Loved the lens though!
