400D/xti Firmware update not working?

Ok guys, I did some searching but couldn't find an answer for why this isn't working... Im trying to do the 1.1.1 firmware update on my xti but when I put the CF card into the camera it won't recognize that the CF card has the firmware update to run. I checked and I've got it in the directory on the card like I'm supposed to, but the camera just won't recognize is to update. I tried it will both of my CF cards with no luck, what am I doing wrong here? Thanks for the help.

I think it needs to be in the root of the card, not in any directory. Also make sure the file is unzipped (I think the correct extension is .fir or something like that). Finally, if everything else fails, try to clear your browser cache and re-download the firmware.

The instructions are a little vague.

The file you download is e4kr3111.exe

run that file - it will create a file called e4kr3111.fir

Copy that file to the root directory of your cf card and put it in the camera.

then follow the rest of the instructions

that was my problem. i didn't run it before putting it on the card. thanks for the help
