The flat black earth of the fens that were until drained swamps with tidal watercourses are know for tales of spirits and the wide skies.

Out this evening to catch the sunset and returning swans . .

and reflections in the "New Bedford" one of the drainage channels - the washes are still dry - usually just a wide shallow lake by now beyond the river bank.

I was taken by a whispering in the air.

Was it a haunting? A will-o-the wisp?

No - just me with the setting for aperture pref giving a 1/5th second exposure on a Barn owl low over the pasture below me on the bank.

Temperature just on freezing - by worth going out a couple of miles down the road towards the Welney Reserve.

Canon 600D, 40D, 350D + 50mm 1.8, Sigma 18-200is, 70-200 2.8DG and 70-300. Still have A1 and 300 EOS and must get out my Rollei TLR sometime

I love the last one. Actually looks more like a chalk drawing than a photograph. I'd frame and hang that one. Thank you for sharing.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

It is one of those images that one wonders how it happened and could make folk believe in ghosts if found in the middle of an old roll of film.
