Bad pics!!!!!! This is all i could get of a red bellied woodpecker from on top of a parking garage freezing my butt off. But since it was my first attemped ever, i must bring myself to share.
handheld, 200 iso, 420 mm, 1/400.

not bad at all.
it looks alot like the ladderbacked woodpeckers we have out here in AZ.

well thanks. BUT im going to see if he favors that tree again in the morning and sit in my truck out of the wind. also i will try a faster shutter speed and stop down the aperature a little

I agree, not bad at all. In fact, I don't think I've seen one of these in that kind of setting before. Usually they're glued to a tree. So well done!
