After a day of shooting, a fellow photographer and I were going to call it a day and head home after one more stop to catch the last bit of sunset colour.

Well, we got to the spot a little late. Most of the colour was gone but on the opposite side of the sky was this strange light coming behind the tree line.

With the thin clouds it looked very odd until we saw what the source of the light was! The moon!!! haha

I rarely shoot the moon but this was a pretty good opportunity and couldn't pass it up.

So with the full moon around this opened up more photo opportunities. Some night shooting. The only time my measly gear can produce good results is a full moon so we headed to a place my friend had found in his travels.

Shortly after exiting the car to get ready to shoot, there was an awful lot of howling and barking in the distance! Needless to say, it was a little unnerving. Must be the fool moon!

Enjoy!

Very nice, Scott. But as I've said before, I expect nothing less from you. Your work is always a cut above the rest.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

Very beautiful captures. All you need now, is a wolf prowling around in the background. 100% awesome shots.

Beautiful. Your photos always tell wondeful stories.

I really like #1. One of the better moon shots I've ever seen. Most moon shots I've seen (including my own) seem more technical or science than aesthetic. You've really made it work with the color in the sky, and the foreground. Nice shot.

Great set, Scott. But I expect that from you. KUDOS.

#1 and #4 for me, but especially #1.

And, dont worry about the wolves - they want nothing to do with you. We've had them outside of our campsite when our own dogs were with but if we leave our mutts at home the wolves are long gone before we get anywhere near them most of the time.

That moon shot is absolutely awesome! I went out last month to get a similar shot of the moon rising but it was way to cloudy. Great shot!
