So, I've no picture(s) to post because of the almost 2000 I snapped on a recent trip to Australia and New Zealand none are of KC. However, I do have some words of wisdom and a few notes to self....

Before we left my 6D was acting up just a bit. Not enough for major concern but thought to myself since I'll literally be half way around the world, I better take my t5i body as a backup. So after we arrived I reached for my 6D and pulled it out of my bag. I immediately saw and felt that the the battery tray compartment for the dual batteries in the battery grip was empty. Yikes. I remembered without hesitation that I had removed the tray and both batteries for last minute charging and the tray and both batteries were way back home. Thank god I took my backup body. I had to use a crop sensor camera the entire trip but in the end the photo came out wonderful. The plus is my high end glass works with it.

Note to self - backups can literally save the day.

I've been taking my backup camera with me at all times now. I don't have a wide angle lens for the 6d so when I want to go really wide I pop out the crop camera and the 10-18mm. Please include a link when you start a thread showing your images!!! Can't wait to see them!!

The only place I'll put them is on Flickr. I've started the new albums already. That's where I keep most all our travel photos. These are of Port Douglas Australia, Sydney Australia and Queenstown New Zealand and then a album of each of the excursions we did from each location. Two favs of this trip have to be diving the Great Barrier Reef and New Zealand. Both amazingly spectacular.

So, this is pretty cool. Did you use Photoshop to remove it from the original background?

No, I isolated the single sunflower head against a cloud and then cropped the image. At the time I thought this was going to make for a terrible capture as I was trying to get blue skies behind it but I was rather suprised how much I did like it.

Shot from a different angle and liked the silhouette of the trees in the background. We went to the Plaza Art Fair tonight which is always a lot of fun.

It's good... I haven't been shooting other than the occasional portrait, and that's very occasional. I wanted to come back and remind myself of how good it feels to be out doing this... I did go out to Death Valley the other night, but I might be rusty. :)
