Nice shot, Mike!

I've never fiddled with someone else's photo on POTN before, but I was curious to see how your shot would look with the perspective lines corrected. I also bumped the exposure up a bit in the shadows. Unfortunately, the correction lopped off some of the pianist, which is the focal point of the shot. All done in Lightroom 5.7. Let me know if you'd like me to delete the image.

I like it Jon. I like the light bumped up in the shadows and the perspective does look better like this instead of a more fisheye look. Thanks. I appreciate you taking the time.

I've only been in Union Station (to my best recollection) twice in my life. Once as a small child, I recall sitting on benches in that grand hall and then going down stairs to board an imposing, noisy train belching steam and evil smells.

Many years later, August 1962, 20-30 Navy enlistees and I boarded a train bound for Recruit Training Center, San Diego, CA. I don't recall that much about the station the second time as I was nursing a mean hangover from a going away party the night before.

The more pictures I see fires my resolve to travel to KC one more time. Keep the great pictures coming!

Doug

Beautiful, Mike!

Would you mind me asking how you took that shot? That's a pretty dark stairway! Did you use a tripod?

Perhaps something between the two would be ideal, to keep some of the feeling of height. But in LR it's all or nothing. Photoshop would allow more control.

Handheld actually and a three part bracketed shot. I guess I had steady hands on this one. I like how it turned out.

Beautiful again, Mike. You really seem to have blossomed in the last year, am I right? Very advanced stuff you're doing now.

Your very kind Jon. I am trying to get better each day. I still feel like I have miles to go before I'm there though. It's fun to see some of my earlier images compared to where I am now. I do think I'm getting a little better. Thanks for the shout out.
