Did you blur the tree branches in photoshop? It looks like more than just out of focus blur. I like the catchlights in her eyes though. Everything else is pretty good. Nice job.

@kraaazymike- I actually work in Orange and live in Corona. I loves me some 91 freeway!

@canonical_btard- Nope, no Photoshop. That's all lens throwing those branches out of focus.

Thanks for the feed back.

Adorable! I think it is a great christmas photo and thank you for knowing how to photograph someone in a santa hat! Too often, photographers don't pay attention to where the hat is "flopping" and they end up with the white pompom hanging down the BACK and not showing. The proper way to photograph a santa hat is the way you did, with the hat flopping to the side (preferably camera side). Otherwise, it is just a red hat with a white brim that yes, we KNOW is a santa hat, but it looks so much more polished and correct when positioned properly. Your daughter is very pretty and you really made her eyes look nice. Not sure if the eyes are a SLIGHTLY soft, probably not, probably either MY eyes or compression from uploading. Very nice image.

@suecassidy- Thanks for the kind words. The eyes are definitely sharper on the original but still not quite as sharp as it would have been using a higher shutter speed. I was only using the light of tree and at 2.8 and 3200 iso i was only able to get a 50th of a second. Thanks for all the points on the fine art of Santa hat portraiture.
