Turns out I am not getting as many keepers from my trip as I thought I did. I did a lot of experimental work that was probably too ambitious. Next trip out there in the spring should have me better prepared.

#1 seems a little empty - the movement in the tide isnt enough to keep my attention here. #4 is just nice, but nothing compelling enough to where I'd want it on my wall.

But, #2 and #3 are great images - love the processing and composition on these. I would try to open up the shadows on the left side of #2 just a bit so the top of that rock isnt all black. I would also do some cloning on the hotspot in #3 - it almost hurts my eyes even on my computer monitor! Other than those two small nits, these are great!

Thanks for the input. I plan on doing what you suggested. I am now doing quick edits and then letting them sit for a day or two so I can make a more objective decision on which ones to cut and then apply more PP time to the ones going up to my website.

This was more of a location scouting trip, so next time should yield better shots, as I know where to go now. :D

Here's another shot taken after #4 when the sun set more. I would have liked to run down the beach to get the sun right behind the lighthouse, but I would have missed that killer whirlpool shot, which I think is better. Those shots were taken at the rock in the foreground.

Looks like you did great to me based on the images Ive seen in the last few threads you started. The one you just posted is a much stronger comp of the location in #4 - I like this a lot.

Wish I had a teleconverter to prevent cropping, but yeah, I like this one too. :D

2 and 3 really work for me. Which beach were these shot at?

yeah, I kind of wish that damn rock wasn't in the foreground though. I should have moved to the left more. It's really difficult to notice things like that when there is so much going on.

Wowee, these are fabulous!

I really like #s 1 and 2. Also like that you captured some foreground detail in 3, rather than it all being black/silhouetted.

Nice set of images!

Try cropping it out, that might make it ever stronger moving the sun and lighthouse a little more away from the center as well.

I don't mind the rock there. It gives something interesting to look at in the foreground. Otherwise I think your eye gets stuck in the light band through the middle with the sun and the lighthouse. It might have been better if it was a more interesting rock, but you have to take what nature gives you.... ;-)a

I agree with others that #5 and #2 are the best, but I'd be happy to say I took any of them.
