Updated anyway. All went smoothly and works as expected.

That's what free .x updates always are. It would be unrealistic to expect new features for free. I estimate that there will be a public beta of LR4/ACR7 in about three months, maybe less, and final release half a year from now, when we will have to reach for the wallet.

I began using LR3 with the 3.6 RC just over a month or so ago. Today's production release installed w/o any problems. The installer was very well behaved! It removed the RC installation and sediment files and created a new directory for the production release.

Well, mine didn't go off "without a hitch"!

I opened LR and it came up with the "update available" message. I usually run the update and then either the installer automatically closes the existing app or it gives a clear dialog box telling me to close the existing app, but that didn't happen, instead it just gave me error messages saying it couldn't access the installation file. Under one or two of the error dialogs was one that I had to cancel the others before I could get to it and "OK" it after I closed LR. Then the installation completed.

In other words, while Adobe is doing bug-fixing they need to bug-fix their installer!

So, if anyone else has a similar problem doing the "automatic updater" just remember to close the current install then wade through any error messages, Cancel ones that indicate you need to "do something"...it's pretty dorky how it "worked"...

My upgrade went without a hitch for both LR3 and ACR.

And it was a bug fix, but that bug disabled the photo download function allowing one to select a different download location from Bridge. The beta for 6.6 fixed that but leaves you running a beta release. The final seems to fix it all.

Monitor profile problem. Recalibrate.
