Well.... fall has come and it was finally time to rake up the leaves in the yard. Things would have gone much quicker, but my daughter decided to play in them and scatter them about.... again. So I grabbed the camera and took advantage of the situation! Let me know what you think, I can post a full color version as well if requested.

Thanks!
- Tom

Lovely picture, I think the selective coloring works well with this.

Wow, now that took some work (the editing, not the raking) ;)
Nicely done... thanks for sharing...

I'm a big fan of selective colouring and when it's done right...such as this photo...it has a very dramatic and powerful effect on the photo! Nice job and thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Outstanding job. Just curious about how long it took to do this?

Thanks for all of the kind comments!

Rubi Jane: I wouldn't be too awfully surprised if I missed a leaf! lol!

For those inquiring about how long it took, it actually took only about 45 minutes to do the selective coloring. It goes fairly quick if you know how to use the tools. The selection tools I used for this were the lasso tool and the magic wand tool. And I saved my work VERY often! After doing this piece though, I really have the urge to go out and buy one of those drawing tablets for my PC!

Thanks again for the kind comments! :D

ABOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! If that is the natural color of the leaves, you could have just placed a layer mask over your BW conversion, or erase the BW layer over the leaves and let the color show through rather than selecting w/ the lasso. Just another method that MIGHT be easier. Anyway, you did a wonderful job. And to think someone recently said we should outlaw selective color. Well sometimes it just works and this is an excellent example.

Great picture. I did not have to rake at all this year. I had been putting it off and last week we had 60+ miles per hour winds and it cleared every last leaf off of my yard.

Thanks for sharing.
