He has been wrestling less than a year at 13 years old. A very late start by wrestling standards. He has worked his tail off all summer in the wrestling and weight room. Over 950 kids at this tournament (in all weight classes). He took second. It has been really fun to take pictures of sports as a hobby, watch your kid blossom in a sport, and capture his success in a picture for him. He has a 16x20 of this hanging in his room. Sorry if I got a little sappy. Proud dad post.

I don't have kids of my own, so I often volunteer to take hockey pictures of friends kids. I love the sport, and try to give the kid a cool picture of him in action. So far they've all loved it. I'm sure your boy must really like the pictures you take too. Well done.

+1

That is late these days to take up anything. I have a similar feeling when my son plays ice hockey. Started at age 14.

Although thirteen is a late start, I have seen kids start wrestling in high school, and make it to the State tournament before they graduate. Encourage him to keep working hard, and success will follow. Please post more pics- not enough wrestling shots on the forum! Great shot, by the way!

Great pic and nothing wrong with Crowing about your son. Looks like he deserves it. Got to ask, what were your settings on the camera?

On his one year anniversary of his first, ever, wrestling match. He started wrestling last year. The coaches saw some potential and got him on a club team. He has worked very hard in the off season. If this is any view of what the season will look like... we are really excited.
