Thank you. That view was from the Jaggar Museum...did you not make it there? We didn't hike much with the little ones.

I agree and was tempted to alter it, but from my recollection that's what it actually looked like so I didn't. Maybe I will revisit that. And we just stayed at the hotel, not the beach club. Although that looks like a great alternative. Do you have experience with it?

We stayed there once and ended up getting the unit over at Waiohai because of the kitchens and other things. The grounds and pool area of the beach club are nice and at the rock in your picture we watched a turtle feeding on the seaweed. Lihue is a nice central location to stay at and I would say a good area for weather.
This is one of what I came up with colorwise and a short movie (not the best but I just got the camera) So the movie isn't edited in any way. You can hear an owl fly by toward the end. This was at the Volcano House, a much better place to take pictures from as there is no wind for video.

Wow, that is an incredible image Canon_Shoe. I agree. I was at NaPali a month ago and every time one of my images of it comes up as my computer wallpaper I stop and stare for a couple minutes.

This is not my image so I will post a link to the image on his website, but this is Kauai based photographer Aaron Feinberg's "Na Pali" from Kauai. 8 shot panorama that blew me away! Once you've seen the Na Pali coast, I think the beauty haunts you!

I checked google maps and the three places he could have done that from are Niihau (no public access), Lehua, or from the deck of a boat. What an awesome capture ..

Yep, that's done from a boat......I've taken the same trip up the coast and it was worth every penny! It's hard because the waves are calmer in the morning but the light is better in the afternoon with rough waves usually. Conditions have to be just right since sometimes they won't take you up Na Pali in the afternoon with rough conditions. Boat trip and a helicopter tour of the island are worth it all!

Looks like a popular spot to shoot from and I can see why. It is beautiful.

Thanks.

The first I like the most, at least they look interested in the sunrise.
Do you know where the "best" show for fireworks is on Oahu?

The Friday night show at the Hilton Hawaiian Village was pretty decent, and there's plenty of room to find a spot to shoot, if you find parking. Cheapest place to park would be the free parking adjacent to the Kahanamoku Lagoon or the paid lot above Red Lobster at Alamoana and Hobron.

I spent a week in Maui (July 13-20th) with my pregnant significant other :). We wanted to go somewhere gorgeous and relaxing before the baby comes and we've both been to Maui in the past (not togther though). Here's one of us shot somewhere around Wailea/Makena at a tiny little beach we stumbled across while driving around looking for a good location to catch the sunset. I brought a light stand, umbrella, etc... but forgot one of my YN-622's back at the condo so I ended up shooting this one on tripod with a timer and flash on camera (YN-568). Camera was setup in manual, flash set to eTTL.

We drove the road to Hana and made sure to stop for the 7 Sacred pools. Unfortunately it had rained too much prior to our trip, making access to the pool/s too dangerous to allow. :( We ended up doing the short 1.5 mile hike (approx) and I managed to snag this shot with my 7D and Rokinon 8mm fisheye.

This one was shot right across the street from the Maui Kamaole where we stayed in Kihei.

I shot 1700+ images. Lots more to edit. If you'd like to see the rest, be sure to click on the FB link below and hit LIKE. Will post the rest in the next couple weeks.
