Was going to try to get some surf shot today on the North shore but decided against it due to the cancellation of the surf event.

Here is a shot of a wave, a bit smaller and calmer.

That's my favorite jump on the island. You missed some big waves. Went up on Thursday and watched waimea for a bit. Also went to kawela to get away from the waves and people

Had a 6D....
Then had a daughter....
Now have an SL2 and Mavic Pro.... Man life changes.
I would encourage you... To just go for it.

I'd go: Maui,Kauai,Oahu and Hawaii. I have not been to Molokai or Lanai. I live about 30 minutes from San Francisco all my life and avoid the place like it has the plague. We have 3 weeks a year to use on Maui/Kauai which are our favorites.
Really love that nightime Waikiki beach shot.

This year we have vowed to get on the early morning ferry & spend one day on Lanai. Maybe next year we will do the same on Molokai. 3 weeks until we go; can't wait. This will be my 12th trip to the Islands & I am always excited to go back. This year we booked a 3 hour Photography Safari out of Ma'alea which will be about 2 1/2 hours after we land. :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Maureen,
In the paper on Oahu they have noted that it is one of the best seasons for whales there. I did get to see some off shore.
Enjoy your trip and tell Skip that Lowell still hasn't used it.

Rayman: I hope you don't mind if I use your picture for the next several days as my desktop background. Can't get enough of it.

Sure,, no problem. Glad you like it.

That is a lovely photo John, but Denny is right ;)

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

Sorry folks, but that is highly unlikely to happen.....I hardly ever get on that side of the lens.
