that looks yummy! how was it? everyone says its good.

Garlic shrimp was very good but there is a lot of oil. So if you don't mind it then it's worth trying. Also try their spicy shrimp if you like spicy food.

Didn't realize there was a Hawaii thread! Here's a shot from the North Shore in the morning.

If you have a view from your room of the beach thats a good spot, I shot them right off our balcony, they only last about 5min so make sure to be set up ahead of time. Otherwise there is a park (cant think of the name) right along the beach find a clearing and shoot there. I liked being elevated at the hotel, I was able to grab the city lights along with the fireworks. I used a decent shutter time to get the fireworks from launch to explosion looks real cool.

Magic Island (Ala Moana Beach Park, Waikiki side) is good! Show starts around 8pm. You'll also have close to a full moon.

in back of the army museum (Fort DeRussy) is a breakwater, that's a very good spot to set up. get there early, it can be crowded. walk out as far as possible, climb up on the rocks and set your stuff up and wait. it'll be dark when you depart, be careful on those rocks.

Here's a little article on fireworks photos.

From Kalia Rd walk back between Fort Derussy and the Hilton Hawaiian Village to the breakwater and you have the best seat in the house.

I almost did that. If I hadn't had my wife with me (Yah, RIGHT!) I would have made the trek up there.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

I wouldn't have done it but since my wife and daughter was spending time with her friends, I had about 3 hrs to kill. Boy, I am totally out of shape but had to force myself just to take some pictures. :)
