Just bought an IXUS 750 your thoughts an experiences please

Just purchased this as a point n shoot instead of carrying my 20D everywere any ups or downs with this camera ?

I don't have direct experience with an Ixus 750, but I did have the Ixus 400 for a while. I found the biggest difficulty was exposure. I think cameras which are aiming for JPEG output tend try to get the best histogram coverage when they expose, whereas a camera like the 20d will push the histogram to the left if the highlights are rather bright. In other words, I think the Ixus series exposes without too much regard for blown highlights. Of course, the 750 could be completely different, but as it's a JPEG-only camera, I doubt it.

I bought it for me Dad to be honest but was thinkin i could use it also without having to carry my canon 20d around
