I just got a used but looked to be in great condition 70-200 F4L IS and last night after messing around in my house taking pics of my xmas tree and dog to see how the IS worked with low shutter speeds, I finally realized that I had a telephot in my hands and moon pics would be more interesting than on a 18-55 kit. So I tried the first hand held in Av mode at F4 to try to get higher shutter and it took the pic around 1/400 I think at ISO 200 and ended up with some noise as you may see. I can see the noise in the jpeg I save on my PC but for some reason it is not showing as much when I uploaded it to flickr. I noticed that my image quality seems to change after I upload. Next I tried it on a tripod at F11 and F13 ISO 100 agian in Av mode with a 1/30th shutter I think it was. Since I cropped the pics the info no longer shows in flickr. To me their is no real difference in the photos being hand held at F4 and on a tripod at F11. I figured it would get sharper. Not sure if this copy needs to be calibrated. I did turn IS off on the tripod.
First pic is the hand held one.
