allways see what canon offer with the camera
They are selling the kit lens EF-S 18-135 first
and now they choose the EF-S 15-85 as a kit lens with your camera

the macro lens 60 m you bought is a good lens for my camera the 60D
and the macro 100 L IS which i had is the best macro lens for your 7D
You can read the small paper book ( The EF advantage EF Lenses ) from any shop of canon
and you will know how to choose the right lenses you need for your camera

This what happin to your photos not from the 7D
Its from the full frame lens >>> 24-105
The same thing happin to me when i try to use this lens on the Canon 60D
But when i did some change in the shtter speed , iso , and other things the photos became nice
Try to use a general EF-S lens from your friends like 15-85 or 17-85 or 18-135 or 18-200 even the 18-55
You will see what i mean

moltengold wrote in post #13557862 (external link)
Other thing about the lens 24-105
i have used this lens with the full frame camera the 5D2 but everything is ok its a great lens with that camera
But when you use it with a crop you must know how to deal with it

Not sure what you are getting at but EF lenses work fine on the 7D. Nothing special required to get sharp pictures from my 24-105, 70-200, 100-400, 50mm, 85mm lenses on my 7D. My "full frame" lenses do not require a higher shutter speed. In fact, my EF lenses get better results than any EF-S lens I have owned except one - the 17-55 2.8 IS.

Not true. EF lenses work great on any body.

It sounds like the problem i had with my 7D. Never solved it properly, but 2 trips to canon managed to tone it down and considering my style of shooting it became less relevant but nonetheless annoying. Mine had problems focusing with every lens, 35L, Sigma 85, Sigma 30. All of them work perfectly on other cameras, but 7D has this thing about it :D Either way, i have not tested it on servo, but mine showed extensive and variable front/back focusing with each lens (worse being the L, then 30 sigma, then 85) on precision focus, less of a problem was single point af, and the others after.

I have to agree with you. I just got a Sigma 17-70 and the image are way sharper than what i was getting on the Canon 24-105. I am using the same exact settings. Got mine at Samy's Camera for $419.

I had the same problem with my 7D. I micro focused the 24-105 and it was a bit better but still soft. I eventually read about hard-resetting the 7D so I tried that and then micro focused all of my lenses again. I really didn't expect it to work, but it is a different camera now. Very sharp.

Don't believe the hype. I have gotten as sharp pictures using a 7D and a 1D Mark IV as I got when using my 5D Mark II. By your logic there aren't lenses made sufficiently for a APS-H body.

That appears more like something out of an advertisement rather than some confession from Canon that full frame lenses only give great results on full frame cameras.

I'm a bit confused. Why use the '*' button over the 'AF ON' button? Other than that, I agree though.

Both the "AF-on" button and the * button can be set for the same functions...
...but my thumb fits better with the * button, and it's a bit bigger than the "AF-on" button!
Other than that, there's no reason.
:D

It never ceases to amaze me the people that post false information claiming EF Lens don't provide quality results on APS-C sensor bodies ... Ignorance ...
