I am going to be there in July for 3 days as a break in my journey to Sydney,
I will be there in the middle of summer so it will be very hot, has any one been there in summer any hints for a summer visit 40C to 49C oh my goodness I did not plan this well, I am unsure if many of the tours will still be operating in the middle of summer?

Stay indoors as much as possible? Enjoy the air conditioning as much as possible? I should imagine that most things will still be running, you'll just have to deal with the heat :P

I think I will have to brave the heat and do a few tours at least.
The Big Bus Tour sounds like a good first option,
Burj Khalifa and Fabric souq, the Fish Markets ( I think that smell will magnify at 45C:)

I will be staying at Dubai Creek, I hope I pick a good location.

Exponentially :)
We stayed in the Golden Sands apartment complex - it's a bit of a bus ride to most places, but they're reasonably inexpensive. You can stay closer to the Creek itself too.
