Would you feel any redundancy owning both of these lenses?

85 is faster but long mfd.
100 is macro.

I've sold the 35L, 50 1.4, and 135L. I feel missing prime but I don't want a lot of lenses....

As 85L can go to f/1.2, which is very handy with 5D2 - I can shoot lower ISO and bit slower speed in the dark street.

As you have 70-200 IS II already, unless you shoot 1:1 macro, there is no point for 100L.

Why does the 7-20 make the 100L moot? Mfd is not close...... Macro is low priority but I'd like to have the ability to do it.....

I think he said that because you have the 100 covered with your 70-200 and unless you wanted a macro lens he fl would be redundant.

GAS?

people in this forum will tell you that your 70-200mk2 can replace 85L which I strongly disagree.

And unless you need marco, no point whatsoever to get the 100L.

Oh. In a bad bad way. No more than a week after simplification does the need for expansion resume.

Owning both the answer is no. 85 1.2 vs 100 2.8. Focal distances are insanely different. IS vs no IS... totally different lenses.

Not at all. IMO they are two totally different lenses for totally different purposes.

I have both the 85L and 100L macro. I'll be completely honest with you in my situation. The macro lens is my least used lens. I hardly, if ever, use my macro lens. I prefer the 85L over it for non-macro shots. I only use the macro lens...for...well...macro stuff.

I have the 85, 100 and 70-200. Does that make me super redundant?

Yes! Should trade your 70-200 for 300 f2.8 IS II ;)
