Check this out. The guy is using a Better Beamer but, he's able to use his flash continuously in sync with the camera. Do you know what he's using to get such a fast refresh rate? Go to 5:19-5:20.

His intro is WAY over the top. Yeah, I see what you're talking about--he fires off several series of ultra-fast bursts around the 9 min mark. Is that speed even possible on the 580ex?

I'm seeing lots of vids of birding photogs using the better beamers. Maybe I'll have to pick one up for myself and see how the light affects the subject.

Wed morning low is supposed to be 8F

Now that is getting chilly!

We've been stuck in this stupid warm bubble for so long I'm going nuts. We'll get a sprinkling of snow and then the next day it's +8C. We're supposed to get some colder temps in the next few days and there's some snow on the ground tonight.

Hmm, I am reading from reiews on B&H that people are seeing improved recycle times with it. Well, looks like I'll add the CPE3/CPE4 to my list for the future.

Nooooooooooooo :( For what it's worth, I'm freezing here in shorts. With the ceiling fan going. And the windows open.

I'm looking outside at the pretty snow on the deck :D

Pretty windy around these parts today. Out of the SSW so it's not bringing much snow. If the winds turned around and came from the north I'd be much, much happier with the lake effect snow!

That desaturated solar flare greenie/yellow look always reminds me of the nasty prints that the crap Agfa film would produce.

Yeah...

I deleted the post though... I figured out why the flickr/LR3 shots looked so differently so I'm going to try and tweak them some more.

IDK what to do though... :/

Just you and the wifey?

had dinner at youngest son's home, then went home to enjoy our empty nest, two sons decided to enjoy Florida, in Orlando instead of Las Vegas, the two brothers met for Christmas, the Texan went home after Christmas and my eldest went home to St Louis today.

Well since I had a bit more of a backstory on the last one..

Basically all of my family were in town, so we had my cousin take some family photos and time of day/location were just terrible so I'm doing what I can with the photos.

I had something like this

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Redirected to error image by FLICKR

IMG_4427.jpg (external link) by *sigh* (external link), on Flickr

But maybe I'll really go extreme on the desaturation... the colors are less gross.. (Ok maybe I won't go this extreme... )

Here's one unedited for reference...

PS... I really hate family photos...
