AND use good grammar. Think about it this way Jake. When you are 30 years old and a kid asks if he can help you but can't spell right or use proper tenses would you want to let him help you be apart of his business for a day? I'm not trying to offend you but I'm just saying that if you think about it they're running a business and don't want their time wasted.
Also don't rush into it. Start taking portrait shots of people and try to think like a wedding photographer if you are serious about it. Look at photos see what they try to get out of the photos.

Why do people who advise using good grammar use bad grammar?
I would definitely want you to be "apart of my business," and not "a part of my business."
Overall, however, this is good advice, in almost every instance.
I know, I will be inundated with "this is only an online forum, so grammar and spelling doesn't matter" replies.
But it does matter! Bad grammar and spelling demonstrates that you don't care about the reader, only about yourself.
And I, personally, know of several cases where professionals (lawyers) were not hired because they used bad grammar in their personal communications on line.
No one can see you on the internet. Therefore, you are what you type. I you type crap, well....
