Same here... most of the stuff I want is out of my families budget so it normally comes down to money/gift cards for me.

Not everybody wants to return a gift just because it wasn't the absolute best.

But when you have the same type of thing, and they are of better quality, there is no reason to keep them...

He can keep them if he wants, I could not care less what he does with his gifts.

Hehe! I'll keep it as a back up. :)

My family knows I have everything I need and I don't expect them to spend money on me.

I tell people straight up what I want and where to get it. They decide if they want to get it for me or not. Before Christmas I went over to my sister's place to go shopping with her and the kids. She had the Canadian Tire flyer open, I pointed to one item, said I want that, she circled it, bought it, and wrapped it up. Easy for her and I got exactly what I wanted.

I do that but in an indirect way. This way she feels happy she got me something i was thinking about. Mind you i talk about a lot of different things im looking at. For me it is more about her feeling happy that im excited about a gift she got me even though i would like anything she thought of :)

Marketing blitz at its finest. I purchased a good pair of Sennheisers for my father two years ago. Loves them!
