Mathematicians, engineers, and accountants: they all play with numbers, but not quite in the same way.

When asked what 2 plus 2 equals:

a mathematician will break into a thirty-minute monolog on the theory of numbers, ending with "and therefore, 2 plus 2 most often equals 4";

an engineer will whip out his (RPN) calculator, tap it four times, and say "4"; and

an accountant will look around to make sure you're alone, put his arm over your shoulders, and very quietly ask, "What would you like it to be?"
