I need to get LED kit lights for studio video primarily and on-location video work on occasion. Primarily, the work would be sit-down style interviews. A secondary concern would be lighting indoor stills photography for products and people. So basically, I would like to get lights that can function for both video and stills photography in limited situations.
I am leaning towards LEDs because they are generally daylight balanced, cool to operate and easy to carry. On the downside, I don't see creative light modification options ike one would find with tungsten light kits or even the soft boxes that come with florescent continuous light kits. Ability to modify the lighting somehow would be fantastic. I will be working with 5Dmk2's, 7D's and an assorted set of fast primes and zooms. For this project, my budget is USD 2K. Given my requirements, what are my other available options?
