In January I'll be exhibiting some of my work in conjunction with our local art group. I have done some prints on Hahnemuhle 308, which i certainly like, but I'm generally not that fond of matte paper. The Hahn looks fantastic behind glass ( a small framed art print for a client brought some work colleauges to a screaming halt as they walked in and saw it - it was that good) but to keep costs down the stuff for the exhibition will be just mounted on board.
I'm after a fine art paper, witha satin/lustre finish, that also has a great "perceived value" feel in the hand. Another minor gripe I have about Hahn 308 is that it tends to feel like card when handled and I do art reproduction photography for artists, who usually intend selling the prints or canvases. I need some something that feels like a quality item in the hand.
If I stick to Epson product, would the Exhibition Fiber be my best bet or some of the Signature Cold Press papers?
Any advice appreciated. The reproductions can be about anything, paintings, etchings, colour or B&W, even photographs of tapestries which is what will be in the exhibit.
