A couple of shots from my sons Pee Wee division hockey game yesterday. I was happy with the shots despite the poor lighting in our arena. No flash was used and god bless PSCS2. You can't beat the 70-200mm f/2.8 L for these situations.

C&C Welcome.

Really good shots. Especially the detail on the face. Where were you standing?

Very well done. Crisp with good color! ;) Were these done freehand or did you use a monopod?

Thanks guys. I was standing in the penalty box at center ice and was shooting freehand.

Could you have acheived the same result with the f4 model?

Eric, I have a friend that shoots in the same rink with an f/4 and yes, he gets some nice shots as well. I think that I can save a few more of the marginally poorer light shots that he can't.

Nice shots indeed!

I just used (shooting football) a visiting friend's 20D with a f/2.8L 70-200mm... I was going to get the f/4L 70-200mm, but he insisted I go straight for the 2.8, but it's twice as much money and I'm on a student budget :(

Very nice images. I love all that padding on the goalie. The pads are bigger than he is!

Nice hockey shots. I got my 20D late summer and having been taking TONS of shots for my sons high school hockey team! I have had really good success shooting with 800 ISO with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM IS as well--awesome lens!

Keep shooting!
