got bored, had a cool engineer, we were stopped anyway waiting on a southbound intermodul to pass us... (first time riding in an NS engine too/ex conrail engine)

probably not the best picture but did what I could

lol, the other side had a better sunset side but had more shadow to it (was darker) and the mainline wasn't there, would have been perfect 15 minutes before, but I got the tail end of it.

Probably for the railfans & ALN guys, but for me you've lost all the drama in the image. I'd have slightly lightened the shadow detail in the front & dropped in a more dramatic sky. But then you've seen all the "informed comments" I got on the night trucks series? :D

The first one is a little dark.....but I don't know how much more you could pull out of it given the equipment used to take the shot. Second shot is a much nicer exposure, but it does lack the sunset drama. ;)

yeah i like the first one being so dark. It gives it a dark mysterious feel. (like a drug runner boat)

Wouldn't 1/100 & ISO 100 have been better for noise in a low light situation?
