Adoramas Free Shipping - Same Day by 7pm?

Ok - so this is a gripe thread.

Sure is a great thing that Adorama is offering free shipping at the moment and if you order by 7pm it "will be on a UPS truck same day". Being a fan of Adorama it is a nice offer.

What stinks is I ordered (an in stock lens) by 7pm yesterday (even with delays because their paypal tab did/does not work). Today I get an e-mail it will be shipping USPS and it will be "Super Saver (7-10 Business Days)". I could walk there and get it in less time. When I track my order on their site 25 hours later is shows up as Packed (not shipped).

I understand they are busy. But surely they also know they will be busy and to make such a claim/offer and deliver so poorly (potentially next year) is disappointing.

If your site says UPS truck then I am expecting a UPS truck (UPS gets to my house next day via ground). If I wanted the lens in 7-10 Business days - I would order it next year

Contact Helen because they always have the ability to speed things up even while in transit.

Considering Amazon is giving free 1 day shipping right now they should be going the extra mile.

True - I already have the stuff I ordered from Amazon 10 minutes before my Adorama order.

Will have to track down Helen. She would probably have preferred me do it first rather than gripe about it.

I know, I've been waiting for amazon to price match the sigma 85mm @ $869... I "told" them about it on several computers/ IP addresses now and no dice... Maybe it's due to the fact they only have 18 in stock for canon mount... But hopefully... otherwise I may buy it from adorama over the weekend if it is still at 869... Rather it was amazon tho since if i get a bad copy i wont have to pay for return shipping...

I ordered a lens last night at 9pm (EST) and I received an email indicating 7-10 day shipping (yes I followed the correct instructions) I was expecting the 1 day shipping from today.

This morning I talked to customer service and he told me the free 1 day shipping ended at 7pm last night and the promo was over, thus I did not receive the free 1 day shipping. He said for an additional $45 he could ship overnight, I politely declined and cancelled my order as it was for X-mas gift.

Did not hear anything back from Helen in reply to my e-mail. As of this morning the order was loaded on a donkey and is making the slow journey north. Hopefully it will be here this year.

Ordered Monday before 7pm. On a USPS truck Wednesday morning. Sorry Adorama but you fell short on your your end of the deal.

You need to call if you do it online it can take days before they get to it.

I reported some listings with incorrect images/description and it takes nearly a week before they even get to those.

My cousin ordered the 5DII kit last night and it was free shipping. I saw an email with free overnight shipping today and email Helen. She emailed back and confirmed that the kit will be sent 1-day overnight. Hope it gets here tomorrow.

They are either apparently very inconsistent or have a problem with their web site. I was placing an order last night before 7 pm EST and free one day shipping was NOT an option even though it had been listed in the item's header. Instead, one-day shipping was an additional $70!! I did not complete the order.

Free shipping it what it was. Then they will upgrade from free-shipping (7-10 days) to 1-day shipping. It's not listed for you to choose, just free shipping is listed. Hope that makes sense.
