Inspired by Todd Gustaffson's supertelephoto support pod (used on top of the roof of safari vehicles in Africa)...I designed and constructed my own version!
I have taken the round, flat base of my Gitzo tripod and adjusted it to fit in a circular steel base as seen in the pics.
The three legs can be moved in any desirable position by loosening and tightening the three bolts with a hex key! The whole system is lightweight and very robust and can easily handle a Wimberley tripod head (or any other tripod head) with a pro camera body and a supertelephoto lens!
As a wildlife photographer with many years of experience in Africa I always believed that beanbags are great but can't match the comfort of using your Wimberley head inside the vehicle!
I hope you like it!

Regards from Greece
Theodore Mattas
