Well, certainly Las Vegas is a haven for photographers. There's so much to look at that it's almost overwhelming. This was my first trip there since my brother moved out there, and I thought I'd share a few of the shots that I grabbed.

When did you shoot the ferris wheel in the Bellagio Conservatory? (was just in Vegas for NFR; the annual Christmas display was a bit lack-luster this year. :( )

It was back in April. I'm a *tad* slow getting these posted  Sorry to hear it was pretty lack-luster this year! The April display was absolutely gorgeous.

Here's a couple of mine from the 2011 Christmas display. Compared to years past, the display was kind of bland IMO:

Nice!

I'll be in Vegas on the 28th of Jan for a few days and I hope to get some great shots.

Last time I was there during thanksgiving 2010 I was a bit intimidated with being out there on the strip jam packed with hundreds of people around me and thousands of dollars of camera gear around my neck bumping into everyone. I'd like to get some shots like this and to not be bugged by people. These shots seem pretty low key. Any suggestions for good spots?

Very nice shots Koala. I see what you mean with how understated the flower garden was compared to when I was there.

For suggestions, it's really tough. It doesn't matter where you go, there are tons of people. I basically carried my camera gear with me all over the strip for 2-3 days. The better shots were mostly from really early in the morning (7-8am) before a lot of the people get going.

Most of my shots are from the Venetian and Bellagio as that's where I just ended up having the most time to really sit and take photos. The rest of the time was just too busy with family and such to really get the shots that I wanted to. The Cosmopolitan was a really interesting hotel, as well, with lots of good potential photography shots to be had, but I didn't have my camera out with me that night since we were bar hopping.

There is more than enough to photograph there and I'm sure you'll be as overwhelmed as I was.

Here is my full album if you'd like to see it: http://jokergirl.smugmug.com …6#!i=1258350120&k=3dwhKZT (external link)

Since my brother lives right off the strip, I'm hoping the next time I go, I'll have more time to spend getting better photographs.
