Thanks, glad you like em.
Thanks for the crit, let me see if I can clarify things for you.
1: Good capture, but its nothing really new or creative.
Point taken, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel either, just provide some nice imagery for my clients.
3. The contrast is too strong for me. If this was a setup shot, I would have had them walking the other way so shadows wouldnt be as bad.
I don't see the shadows being that much of an issue besides if I had them walk the other way I'd have to supply fill and unfortunately time was not on my side.
4. I get what you were going for with the eyelashes, but this feels like a straight "look down her shirt" shot.
Can't hide from 'C' cups. I'd agree on the 'down the shirt shot' if her cleavage was in focus.
6. This seems a bit underexposed and a little orange. I also dont like the angle, it brings attention away from mom getting her into the dress, and more on her holding her rather large bust.
I have angles that cover her getting into the dress better, I like this shot for the skin that is shown.
7. I wish this was more of a straight on shot. I feel you were the second shooter for this wedding.
I have a straight on shot of this too but that wouldn't be really new or creative now would it? Didn't know that these images weren't good enough to be main shooter material. Good thing my client's were overly excited to see my second shooter quality. Oh, and I was the only shooter btw.
9. I like this. I probably would have brought them farther away from the planter to give some separation, but then you couldnt have some standing on top.
Had strobes placed here for their formals which consisted of 25+ people so I had to take advantage of the 18"wall.
10. Some groups are really good at goofy shots, some are not. While this group looks like they are good at it, the B&G arent so much. Maybe you could have pulled the B&G out closer to you and had them kiss while everyone had their goofy face.
Point taken and will definitely use that next time.
11.I like that you included the entire dress in this image, but I dont like how they are so close to the plants. There is DOF for miles, which I am not too fond of.
With time not on my side, my assistant packing up, we were walking to the parking lot as we were shooting so no time for the ND filter. f8 & I'm there, lol.
12. Cute shot of the bride, nice lighting on her. I dont like the wide angle lens though, it makes the flowers look huge!
I don't have anything wider than my 35mm, besides the UWA, so this was the only way I could show that they were being chauffeured.
14. Although you got a great shot of the bride, I would have positioned it a little differently so you can see the crowd in the background. I see a girl in the background who has her arms crossed. The atmosphere doesnt lend itself to the foreground.
I walked around this twice during the event and there was really no way to have a great background and still show what's going on. I had my 580 giving off rim so this was the best I came up with.
In the end, the clients were stoked with the work I handed them. A couple of their friends booked me for weddings in 2012 and I'm not even trying to become a wedding photographer, I love sports & automotive!
I wonder if the POTN fairy can change my title to "Second shooter skills with Main shooter fees!"
