I just got done with my In Depth Hands On Review of the 16-80mm Carl Zeiss lens. A great lens to say the least and my 1st choice for A-Mount walk around lens!

I tried my best in the spelling/ grammar department so hopefully it's better than the A77 review in that regard ;) Still feel free to let me know if you see any errors please!!

Good job there. I met this lens long time ago when i still had my Minolta 5D and 7D… I did not have a chance to hire it as I switched to Canon mount later. But I know it's color and the sharpness, bokeh, and the overall IQ is top notch. It's amazing that this lens has been appreciated $200-250 since it's launch… but this lens is totally worth the ticket price given the Canon's 15-85 cost as much as $750 without the instant rebate.

Thanks for the review and good job.

God i love the sony alpha color scheme. AND i love how each lens LOOKS. they are just so sexy.

except their 70-200 looks a little strange... but their wide and normal zooms LOOK so cool!!

and the 16-80 is a stellar lens

Agree. SONY body + Alpha lenses and CZ lenses always produce very good color although the Minolta color was even better. That was the reason why I picked Minolta Alpha mount to begin with..I had Canon SLR for a while when I decided to go DLSR.I thought of sticking to Canon then.. But when I saw the color from minolta's DSLR, I felt in love.

Another thing you need to know is that some older minolta legacy lenses actually share the same design optically with Leica. And Minolta's 7D has a lot of external control and that made it one of the most versatile body then. Anywayz… hope SONY will be successful to carry on the legend of the Alpha mount.

Gorgeous shots Glen!! They have great depth, color, and dynamic range. HDR? That lense really is awesome, and appears to work great on the Nex-5N.

Curious which adapter your using for the E-A-mount?

Thanks again for your comments and sharing those excellent photos;)
Jay

Thanks Jason

No not HDR just time exposures. I used the Sony LAEA1 adapter on this setup.

Cheers
