Those are some very nice captures Chris. Love the last one.
I'm envious of your trip and know the "gotta get back there" feeling. I've been saying that about Bryce and Grand Canyon now for going on 12 years - ;)

Very nice set of images, sir. I absolutely love the sunset. That's a wall hanger. And also really like the Milky Way shot. Very wide angle it seems. Great work.

Thanks Levina! The sunset shot is something I've always wanted to get. Layered mountains at sunset, what's not to like :-) The milky way shot was something I didn't think I could get. Took a few hours of fiddling with the settings in pitch darkness before I got this shot. Took it with my 15mm fisheye lens. Settings were...

1Ds MK II
15mm FE
f/2.8
1250 ISO
1 min

Very nice set. Those night shots always amaze me. Next time I get out in the wilds I am going to have to try that.

Thanks Tom! I was shocked when I captured the milky way. It was well worth the 2+ hrs of fiddling LOL Here's a star trail shot I got by accident :)

28-70mm 2.8 @ 28mm
f/2.8
ISO 200
14 mins

A fisheye star trail shot. The trails got jagged after reducing the image :(

15mm FE
f/2.8
ISO 200
12 mins

The star trail pictures are very cool as well. A slightly different effect, but the longer exposure brings out more detail in the mountains below, and gives more color to the sky.

Thanks again Paul! Next time I'll try taking a few shorter exposures like 30 secs and blend them together to get longer trails.
