S90 vs S95

I just bought an S95 last week which I'm sending back because of an LCD issue, I was planning on swapping it for a new one. However I walked into a camera store today and they had a used S90 for $169, now I'm wondering if I should just get a refund on my s95 (paid $279) and get the S90 instead.
I figured I could spend the extra $100 I saved towards replacing my broken Rebel XT and getting a new Nifty fifty

My main question is about the picture quality on both cameras (s90 vs s95)...I don't really care about video. Just want to make sure I'm not giving up any IQ or other features......keeping in mind that the money saved would be going towards DLSR gear

I understand my warranty period would be much shorter as well

For stills, I don't think you'd notice a difference except at the very edges of the camera's abilities. The biggest difference is in video resolution.

Thanks, I went ahead and bought the S90 last night. I did see the dial issue people were complaining about, but for the price I think I can live with that.

I owned both. Couldn't really notice an difference an IQ between the two, but the S90's dial issue drove me nuts. The surface of the S95 was also a little tackier, too, making it easier to carry. And the S100 is even better.

For the control wheel issue Lensmate, http://www.lensmateonline.com/store/s90.html (external link) does have a solution, which surrounds the wheel, and helps to prevent inadvertent wheel movement.
Another way to "fix" the loose wheel, is to carefully "pop" the wheel off, and prepare and place a thin plastic washer shaped shim (such as cutting one from fairly heavy plastic bag material) under the wheel. This worked quite well on my s90 ( but there is a certain "pucker factor" removing and replacing the wheel, as well as getting just the right thickness to retard movement but still allow the wheel to to be reattached to the camera ... =] ... )

Good thinking.
You'd be getting much more frim your S90 and a 50mm f/1.8 on you XT
than from an S95 and a broken DSLR. I loved my S90, as long as I treated it
as a point and shoot, and didn't compare it to my other gear.
