Hi all, I have some fingerprints on my lens which is impossible to get out. I bought a lens cleaner but it wont come off fully. I have a 52mm lensmate and a UV filter and that also is hard to get crystal clean. What do you guys use to clean the lens. Maybe I use the wrong solution/cloth combination. Thanks

I use a micro fiber cloth that I bought from lensmate when I ordered the 52mm adapter. No chemicals needed. It works great.

I simply breathe on the lens and wipe with a microfibre cloth. Once in a while I would use the Formula MC cleaner from 2filter.com for more stubborn dirt. If all else fails I would try a lenspen as last resort.

I basically do the same thing, but I use a very soft camel hair brush first, to get off any movable dust.

I found that the microfiber cloth I got works MUCH better if I fog the lens with my breath first. Without fogging the lens, it feels like it will scratch it. Just made me nervous. And yes, it did streak at first without fog.

No fog, no scratch, no streak for me. I guess I'm not as worried as I have the Lensmate52 + Hoya UV on permanently. If I scratch my UV filter so be it.

I don't get any streaking with a microfiber cloth. Just make sure you use a good one. I use a PhotoClear cloth bought from 2filter.com but I hear the best ones are the Microdear cloths from Adorama.

Go to the nearest camera retailer they may carry the CANON cleaning solution with soft cloth, absorbant paper and a vacuum brush. It work perfectltly without leaving the streak or spot when view at different angle.
I paid mine $5 canadian.
