First off, I'm new to this kind of thing. I had no idea what stacking was or that DSS was free until last night. This image is magic in my head and on a small scale. I was able to clean up the grain and noise in ACR but had to stop after a while because my mind was overloaded. I'm new to PS. Once viewed a bit larger or printed (I tried 11x14) it's not quite as sharp or dramatic as I would have liked, I lost the rocks in the foreground and the snow is a bit dark. I'd like the stars sharper and a bit more dramatic if possible. So, what do the experts and aspiring experts have to say? Any feedback on technique or the image itself is welcomed. I want to try this again while the moon taking a break. Thanks in advance.

Stacking are usually done for images without foreground only unless you want to merge the foreground and stacked star images separately using photoshop.

DSS will stack images keeping the stars in alignment. In doing so, the foreground will move and hence be blurred.

Thank you for explaining that. I'll play with stacking the night sky and see if I can integrate that into this image. The above image was taken during an attempt at night HDR that turned out to be more challenging than I bargained on. I'll try that again too and not get overly concerned with star trails.
